Address Book - Create New Address
The [Create New Address] page can be displayed by clicking the [Create] button on the [Address List] page.
You can register a new address on this page.
Address Book - Create New Address (Common)
You can register an address number and type for a new e-mail address on this page.
Address Number
Enter the address number of the address.
- Enter any integer between 1 and 350 in single-byte numbers.
- You cannot have addresses of the same address numbers in the same address folder. If you enter an address number that already exists, the settings configured here will overwrite the settings of the existing address number. Address numbers can be the same as long as they are in different folders.
- This item is optional. If you leave this blank, an unregistered number will be assigned automatically.
- This can be used as a keyword when searching for the address on the scanner's control panel.
Type
Select the type of the address. Select [E-mail (individual)] or [E-mail (group)] when using the address for the [Scan To E-mail] feature. Select [Server] when using it for the [Scan To PC] feature. Select [Media] when using it for the [Scan to Media] feature.

Click this button when you are finished with the settings on this page. When clicked, the next setting page appears.

Recipient Name/Save In Location
Enter the name of the e-mail address to be registered. This item is mandatory.
- Enter in single or double-byte characters within 32 bytes.
- Control characters (such as linefeeds) cannot be used.
Index
Enter a character string that will be used as a keyword when searching for the address. This item is mandatory.
- Enter in single or double-byte characters within 32 bytes. Kanji, single-byte
katakana, and double-byte alphanumeric characters cannot be used because
they are not available on the scanner's control panel.
- Control characters (such as linefeeds) cannot be used.
E-mail Address
Enter the e-mail address. This can be used as a keyword when searching for the address on the scanner. This item is mandatory.
- Enter in single-byte alphanumeric characters/symbols (ASCII characters) within 64 bytes.
- Control characters, spaces, and the following symbols cannot be used:
( ) < > [ ] : ; \ , "
- This can be a character string without an "@" symbol.
- More than one "@" symbol cannot be included.
- When an "@" symbol is included, one or more characters must come before and after the "@" symbol.
Remarks
Enter additional information, such as company name or department name. This item is optional.

Address Book - Create New Address (Group Address) - E-mail Address List
Select members to be added to an address group. A maximum of 27 members can be registered.
Only e-mail addresses displayed in the E-mail Address List can be registered in an address group. Addresses other than e-mail addresses or e-mail addresses registered in other folders cannot be registered.
Number
Displays the address numbers. To select a member, select the check box to the left of its address number.
Sending Type
Select the recipient type. "To", "CC" or "BCC" can be selected.
Recipient Name / Save In Location
Displays the name of the registered recipient.
To
Displays the registered e-mail address.

Recipient Name/Save In Location
Enter the name of the server address to be registered. This item is mandatory.

Transfer Protocol
Select the method to be used when exporting scanned data from the scanner. Select [FTP] when saving scanned data on an FTP server. Select [SMB] when saving it in a Windows shared folder.
If Mac OS X is specified as the transfer destination:
If [SMB] is selected as the transfer protocol, select [Windows Sharing] under [System Preferences] > [Sharing] panel > [Services] tab on the Mac side to activate the Windows Share feature, and then set the user account used by Windows Share.
If [FTP] is selected as the transfer protocol, select [FTP Access] under [System Preferences] > [Sharing] panel > [Services] tab on the Mac side to activate the FTP services, and then set the user account used by Windows Share.
When using SMB as the transfer protocol to access the Mac OS X computer, you can confirm the computer and user names by selecting [Windows Sharing] under [System Preferences] > [Sharing] panel > [Services] tab.
When using FTP as the transfer protocol to access the Mac OS X computer, you can confirm the computer and user names by selecting [FTP Access] under [System Preferences] > [Sharing] panel > [Services] tab. For more information, refer to the Mac help.
Save In (Server Name/IP Address)
Enter the server where scanned data will be saved. This item is mandatory.
Enter this in the following format.
- FQDN format
- Example: pcname.example.com
Computer name (NetBIOS name)
- Example: pcname
DNS host name
- Example: pcname
IP address
- Example: 192.168.1.100
- Enter in single-byte alphanumeric characters/symbols (ASCII characters) within 64 bytes.
- Control characters (such as linefeeds) cannot be used.
Notes on FTP Format
For the FTP server settings, consult your system administrator.
Notes on FQDN Format
When setting this item in FQDN format, [DNS Server Address] under [DNS] on the [TCP/IP] page must be set.
Notes on Computer Name (NetBIOS Name)
- NetBIOS name can be specified when [Transfer Protocol] is set to [SMB].
- When setting computer name (NetBIOS name) located on other subnet, [Primary WINS Server Address] under [WINS] on the [TCP/IP] page must be set.
- Your computer name can be confirmed in [Properties] under Windows [My Computer]. When using Windows XP, confirm your computer name by selecting the [Computer Name] tab > [Change] > [Computer Name]. When using Windows 2000, confirm it by selecting the [Network ID] tab > [Properties] > [Computer Name].
Notes on IP Address
- For Windows, select the Windows [Control Panel] > [Network Connection], and right-click [Local Area Connection], and then select [Status] > [Support] tab to confirm the IP address of the computer.
- For Mac OS X, from the Apple menu, choose [System Preferences] > [Network] > [TCP/IP] to confirm the IP address of the computer.
Notes on DNS Host Name
- To set a DNS host name, [DNS Domain Name] under [DNS] > [DNS Server Address]/[DNS Domain Name] on the [TCP/IP] page must be set on CentreWare Internet Services. Also, the computer where scanned data will be saved must be located in the domain specified in [DNS Domain Name].
- If you are setting this item by entering a DNS host name when [Transfer Protocol] is set to [SMB], and if a computer, which uses a computer name (NetBIOS name) identical to the DNS host name, exists on the same subnet as the scanner, scanned data will be saved on that computer.
Port Number
Set the number of the port on which the destination server listens for connections.
When [Transfer Protocol] is set to [FTP], enter 21 or any integer between 5,000 and 65,535 using single-byte numbers. When [Transfer Protocol] is set to [SMB], enter 139 or any integer between 5,000 and 65,535 using single-byte numbers.
If you leave this blank, the default values will be used.
The default values for [FTP] and [SMB] are [21] and [139], respectively.
User Name
Enter the name of the user who is authorized to access the computer/folder where scanned data will be saved. This item is mandatory.
Enter this in one of the following formats:
Local User Name (other than domain user names)
- Enter in single-byte alphanumeric characters/symbols (ASCII characters) within 97 bytes.
- Control characters (such as linefeeds) and the following symbols cannot be used:
“ * + , / : ; < = > ? [\] |
- Single-byte spaces before and after this are not allowed.
- This cannot be a character string that only contains periods (.).
Notes on Local User Name
When using Windows XP, your local user name can be confirmed under [Control Panel] > [User Account]. When using Windows 2000, it can be confirmed under [My Computer] > [Properties] > [User Profile] tab. Your local user name will be displayed in the format of "computer name\user name". For details, check under [Control Panel] > [User and Password].
NetBIOS-format Domain User (domain portion\user portion)
To save the scanned file to a shared folder on a computer connected to the network in a domain controller environment running on Windows NT Server (via SMB protocol), specify the user name in the format "domain_name\user_name".
Example: domain\user
- Control characters (such as linefeeds) and the following symbols cannot be used:
“ * + , / : ; < = > ? [ \ ] |
- Single-byte spaces before and after this are not allowed.
- This cannot be a character string that only contains periods (.).
- Enter the user name in single-byte alphanumeric characters/symbols (ASCII characters) within 32 bytes.
- Enter the domain name in single-byte alphanumeric characters/symbols (ASCII characters) within 64 bytes.
This format can also be used in the Active Directory environment running on Windows Server 2003 or Windows 2000 Server.
UPN-format Domain User (user portion@domain portion)
The scanner supports the Active Directory environment.
To save the scanned file to a shared folder on a computer connected to the network in the Active Directory environment running on Windows Server 2003 or Windows 2000 Server (via SMB protocol), specify the user name in the format "user_name@domain_name".
Example : guest@example.com
- The "domain portion" cannot include control characters (such as linefeeds), spaces, and the following symbols:

- Enter the user name in single-byte alphanumeric characters/symbols (ASCII characters) within 32 bytes.
- Enter the domain name in single-byte alphanumeric characters/symbols (ASCII characters) within 64 bytes.
For the UPN-format user name, consult your system administrator.
The scanner supports SMB signatures. It is possible to save files (Scan to PC via SMB protocol) to a server that requires digital signature for SMB communication.
Change Password
Select this check box when setting a password for the user name set under [User Name].
Password
Set the password for the user name set under [User Name].
- Enter in single-byte alphanumeric characters/symbols (ASCII characters) within 32 bytes.
- This item is mandatory when the [Change Password] check box is selected.
SMB Shared Name
Enter the shared name of the shared folder where scanned data will be saved. This item is mandatory when [Transfer Protocol] is set to [SMB].
- Enter in single or double-byte characters within 32 bytes.
- Control characters, spaces, and the following symbols cannot be used:
" / : | < > ; , * ? \ [ ] + =
- Single-byte spaces before and after this are not allowed.
- This cannot be a character string that only contains periods (.).
Save In Location
Enter the name of the folder where scanned data will be saved.
- Enter in single or double-byte characters within 96 bytes.
- Control characters (such as linefeeds) cannot be used.
- When [Transfer Protocol] is [FTP], set in a format of "path 1/path2". When [Transfer Protocol] is [SMB], set in a format of "path 1\path2".
- This item is optional.
If you leave this blank when [Transfer Protocol] is [SMB], scanned data will be saved directly under the shared folder set in [Shared Name].
When [Transfer Protocol] is [FTP], scanned data will be saved in a directory that will be logged in by the user set in [User Name].

Enter the name of the media to be registered. This item is mandatory.
- Enter in single or double-byte characters within 32 bytes.
- Control characters (such as linefeeds) cannot be used.

Save In Path
Enter the path to the destination media. This item is mandatory.
- Enter in single or double-byte characters within 96 bytes.
- Control characters (such as linefeeds) cannot be used.
- When the destination path is not specified, the scanned data will be saved in the root directory.
