On this page, you can confirm and change the profile settings stored in the address information.

You can confirm and change the subject, comment, sender address, file naming convention applied for scanned data, scanning conditions, image enhancement settings, and compression ratio.

You can confirm and change the file naming convention applied for scanned data, scanning conditions, folder creation settings, scanning conditions, image enhancement settings, and compression ratio.

    Select File Name
    Set the file name you wish to apply to the scanned data when saving.
    • [Auto Set]
      The file name is automatically set.
    • [Variable set]
      This allows you to specify a file name.
      The file name is composed of [Text String] + [Date] + [Time]. If [Variable set] is selected, [Text String], [Date], and [Time] are assigned with a predefined value.
    Text String
    Set the beginning character string of the file name. Enter this in single or double-byte characters within 20 bytes. Control characters and symbols (" / : | < > ; , . * ? \ [ ] + =) cannot be used.
    Date
    Select the date format used for the file name.
    • When [Not Set] is selected, no date is set.
    • yymmdd
      Date is set in "year, month, day" format. Enter the last two digits of the year.
      For example, March 26, 2007 would be entered as 070326.
    • mmddyy
      Date is set in "month, day, year" format. Enter the last two digits of the year.
      For example, March 26, 2007 would be entered as 032607.
    • ddmmyy
      Date is set in "day, month, year" format. Enter the last two digits of the year.
      For example, March 26, 2007 would be entered as 260307.
    Time
    Select the time format used for the file name.
    • Not Set
      Time is not set.
    • hhmmss
      Time is set in "hour, minute, second" format. Enter the hour in 24-hour format.
      For example, 12:34:56 would be entered as 123456.
    • hhmm
      Time is set in "hour, minute" format. Enter the hour in 24-hour format.
      For example, 12:34 would be entered as 1234.
    File Name Conflict
    Select the setting applied when a file with the same name already exists at the save destination. The available selections are renaming the file, overwriting to the existing file, and canceling the job.
    • [Rename and Save]
      The file is saved with a 4-digit of number (0001 to 9999) appended to the file name.
    • [Overwrite]
      The existing file is overwritten.
    • Cancel Job
      The job is canceled.
    Create Folder
    Select whether to create a folder when saving the file.
    • [Auto Create]
      A folder is created when the file is TIFF, JPEG, PDF (1 page, 1 file), or DocuWorks (1 page, 1 file).
    • [On]
      A folder is created when saving the file.
    • [Off]
      No folder is created when saving the file.
    Output Color/File Format
    Select the desired output color and the file format of the scanned data.
    DocuWorks binder format files (.xbd) are not supported.

      Scans the original in color mode and saves one page as one file in PDF format.
    • Full Color/PDF
      Scans the original in color mode and saves multiple pages as one file in PDF format.

    Original Type
    Select the type of the original to be scanned.
    • Text
      Select this to produce sharp text images.
    • Text & Photo (Halftone)
      Select this to scan documents that contain both text and photographs, for example photographs printed by a printer, booklet, and brochure.
    • Text & Photo (Photograph)
      Select this to scan photographs printed on photographic paper.
    • Photo (Halftone)
      Select this to scan photographs printed by a printer, or photographs on a booklet or brochure.
    • Photo (Photograph)
      Select this to scan photographs printed on photographic paper.
    Lighten/Darken
    Use this option to adjust the overall lightness and darkness (scan density). Select from seven darkness levels; Lighter (+3), Lighter (+2), Lighter (+1), Normal, Darker (+1), Darker (+2), and Darker (+3)
    2 Sided Originals (Originals/Orientation)
    Select the scanned side (1 Sided/2 Sided), page flipping orientation (Head to Head/Head to Tail), and orientation of the loaded original (Head to Top/Head to Left).
    Select [Head to Head] when maintaining the position of the top and bottom of the image on the front and reverse sides.
    Select [Head to Tail] when inverting the position of the top and bottom of the image on the front and reverse sides.
    Select [Head to Top] when placing the original on the document glass or into the document feeder with its top towards the back of the scanner.
    Select [Head to Left] when placing the original on the document glass or into the document feeder with its top towards the left of the scanner. Make sure to select [Head-Left] when placing the original in head-left orientation (texts are in sideways).
    • [1 Sided (Head to Top)]
      Loads original in [Head to Top] and scans in simplex.
    • [1 Sided (Head to Left)]
      Loads original in [Head to Left] and scans in simplex.
    • [2 Sided (Head to Head/Head to Top)]
      Loads original in [Head to Head]/[Head to Top] and scans in duplex.
    • [2 Sided (Head to Head/Head to Left)]
      Loads original in [Head to Head]/[Head to Left] and scans in duplex.
    • [2 Sided (Head to Tail/Head/Head to Top)
      Loads original in [Head to Tail]/[Head to Top] and scans in duplex.
    • [2 Sided (Head to Tail//Head to Left)]
      Loads original in [Head to Tail]/[Head to Left] and scans in duplex.
    Scan Resolution
    Specify the desired scan resolution.
    Higher resolution yields better image quality but increases the size of data. As data size increases, the time required for scanning or transferring data also increases.
    Select the scan resolution from the options of 200 dpi, 300 dpi, 400 dpi, 600 dpi, and Variable Size.
    When [Variable Size] is selected, enter a value in [Variable Size].
    Variable Size
    Enter a value in the range between 200 and 600 dpi.
    Scan Size
    Specify the scanning size.
    • [Auto Size Detect]
      The size of the original is automatically detected.
    • [Standard Size]
      Select the scanning size from the preset paper sizes.
    • [Variable Size]
      Enter the desired size to scan.
    X:
    When [Scan Size] is set to [Variable Size], enter the length of X direction (width direction of the scanner front side).
    For the Scanner Unit PR-MW-SC51, specify in the range between 15 and 432 mm (0.6 and 17.0 inches).
    For the Scanner Unit PR-MW-SC41, specify in the range between 15 and 356 mm (0.6 and 14.0 inches).
    Y:
    When [Scan Size] is set to [Variable Size], enter the length of Y direction (depth direction of the scanner front side).
    For the Scanner Unit PR-MW-SC51, specify in the range between 15 and 297 mm (0.6 and 11.7 inches).
    For the Scanner Unit PR-MW-SC41, specify in the range between 15 and 216 mm (0.6 and 8.5 inches).
    Auto Exposure
    Select whether to remove unwanted marks on the original's background.
    Image Compression
    Specify the desired data compression rate when scanning with [Output Color] set to [Full Color] or [Grayscale].
    • [Higher]
      Saves the scanned data at a high compression rate. The image quality is not high, but the data size is small.
    • [Normal]
      Saves the scanned data at a standard compression rate. Both the image quality and data size is standard.
    • [Lower]
      Save the scanned data at a low compression rate. The image quality is high, but the data size is large.
    [Restore Defaults] button
    Resets the settings to the default values set on the control panel or the default settings stored on the scanner.
[Apply] button

Address - Delete Scan Profile Settings

This page can be displayed by clicking the [Delete Scan Profile Settings] button on the [Scan Profile Settings] page.
The registered scan profile settings are deleted.

    Address Number
    Displays the address number for which the profile settings you want to delete are registered.
    Recipient Name / Save In Location
    Displays the recipient name for which the profile settings you want to delete are registered.
