[Security]


Configure the settings for digital certificates, and the security settings for the network and documents. Each item can be edited in the dialog box displayed when you click the item name.

[General]

[Power on Self-Test]

Configure the settings to detect tampering with firmware during startup of the system.

[Runtime Integrity Protection]

Set whether to enable the runtime integrity protection detection.

[Power On Integrity Check]

Set whether to enable the tamper detection feature when the machine is started up.

[Security Code Settings]

Set the security code.

[Service Representative Operation Settings]

Set items related to operations by service representatives.

[Security Warning Settings]

[USB]

For more information on the settings, see the [USB] dialog box.

[Certificates]

[Certificate Settings]

For more information on the settings, see the [Certificate Settings] dialog box.

[Auto Device Certificate Creation/Update]

For more information on the settings, see the [Auto Device Certificate Creation/Update] dialog box.

This item is displayed when the Certificate Signing Request feature and the SSL feature are enabled.

[Auto Self-Signed Certificate Creation/Update]

For more information on the settings, see the [Auto Self-Signed Certificate Creation/Update] dialog box.

[Certificate Path Validation]

Set whether to enable validation of the path to the certificate.

This item is displayed on the printer that can display the settings for certificate path validation, if the SSL feature is enabled.

[Certificate Revocation Settings]

For more information on the settings, see the [Certificate Revocation Settings] dialog box.

[Overwrite Storage]

When clicking [Edit], the [Overwrite Storage] dialog box is displayed.

This item is displayed when the Storage Overwrite feature is enabled.

[Data Overwrite After Job Completion]

Set whether to overwrite the storage after job completion.

[Number of Overwrites]

Set the number of times for overwriting the storage.

[Network Security]

[FIPS 140-2]

Set whether to enable the FIPS140-2 certification mode.

[SSL/TLS Settings]

[Unbounded Port]

For more information on the settings, see the [Unbounded Port] dialog box.

[IP Filter]

For more information on the settings, see the [IP Filter] dialog box.

[Domain Filtering]

[File Security]

[Watermark]

A watermark is a feature to add predetermined text or a background pattern beneath the original image to be printed in order to prevent the document being copied.

This feature may not be available depending on the model of your printer or options installed on the printer.

[Date Format]

Set the format of the date used in annotations or watermarks to be printed. The value set here is used in both annotations and watermarks.

[Default Watermark Effect]

Select the type of the hidden watermark.

[Font Size]

Set the size of text used in watermarks to be printed.

[Background Pattern]

Select the background pattern used in the hidden watermark.

[Font Color]

Set the color of text used in watermarks to be printed.

[Density]

Set the density of text used in watermarks to be printed.

[Watermark / Background Contrast]

Select the contrast of text and background image used in watermarks to be printed.

[Force Watermark]

With the Force Watermark feature, user ID, the printer ID, and date/time of printing are printed.

[Client Print]

Set whether to force printing watermark on every document printed from the client computers.

[Force Print]

Set which of the settings has priority - settings on the printer or those on the client computer - if [Client Print] is set to enable.

[Media Print]

Set whether to force printing watermark when performing the Media Print.

[Secure Watermark]

A Secure Watermark is a feature to enhance security, for example, by embedding information for preventing duplication in the original document to restrict duplication, or by embedding digital codes to enable analyzing the usage of the document (when, on which machine, who printed the document).

This feature may not be available depending on the model of your printer or options installed on the printer.

[Digital Codes Settings]

[Decoding Password]

Set the password to decode the digital code embedded in documents.

[Custom Digital Watermark]

Set the digital code embedded in paper documents.

[Force Secure Watermark]

[Client Print]

Set whether to force running the Secure Watermark feature for every document printed from the client computers.

[Force Print]

Set which of the settings has priority - settings on the printer or those on the client computer - if [Client Print] is set to enable.

[Media Print]

Set whether to force running the Secure Watermark feature for every document whenever [Media Print] is selected.

[Report]

Set whether to force running the Secure Watermark feature for every report/list printed.

[Secure Watermark Defaults]

[Protection Code]

Set whether to embed the protection code in paper documents.

[Secure Watermark Effect]

[Default Secure Watermark]

Set the string used in the hidden watermark for the Secure Watermark feature.

[Background Pattern]

Set the background pattern used in the hidden watermark for the Secure Watermark feature.

[Font Color]

Set the color of the string used in the hidden watermark for the Secure Watermark feature.

[Watermark / Background Contrast]

Set the contrast of text and background image used in the hidden watermark for the Secure Watermark feature.

[Stored Secure Watermarks]

Clicking the [Edit] button allows you to set the string used in the hidden watermark for the Secure Watermark feature in [(Custom Secure Watermark 1)] to [(Custom Secure Watermark 3)].

[Force Annotation]

Configure the settings related to forced annotations.

[Layout Template]

Displays the name of the associated layout template for each feature.

You can delete the layout templates by clicking the [Edit] button.

[Apply Layout Template to Copy/Print Jobs]

The printer ships with preset layout templates [preset1] to [preset4]. Select which template you want to use for each feature.

[Create Text String]

Click the [Edit] button, and register the strings used in forced annotations. Up to eight types of strings can be registered using [Create Text String 1] to [Create Text String 8].

[Print Universal Unique ID]

Displays retrieved information about printing of UUID; you can also set them.

[Enable]

Set whether to enable printing of UUID.

When Print Universal Unique ID is enabled, the auto paper size detection feature cannot be used for Tray 5 (Bypass).

[Print Position]

Set the position where to print UUID.

[Print Position Adjustment (Length Y)]

Set the position in a Y direction, in the rage between 0 and 100 mm in increments of 0.5 mm.

[Print Position Adjustment (Width X)]

Set the position in a X direction, in the rage between 0 and 200 mm in increments of 0.5 mm.

[Print Position (Side 2)]

Set the position of UUID on Side 2 when running 2-sided printing,
