Protocol Settings - SNMP
This page allows you to configure the settings for SNMP.
[Trap Notification (IPX)] and [Transport Protocol - IPX] will only be displayed when your printer supports IPX/SPX.
Community Name (Read Only)
Enter the community name used for reference and display. You can enter a maximum of 31 characters. The default is "public".
Community name that has been set will not be displayed on the screen. The original setting will remain valid if no entry is made.
Community Name (Read/Write)
Enter the community names for reference, display and write. You can enter a maximum of 31 characters.
Community name that has been set will not be displayed on the screen. The original setting will remain valid if no entry is made.
Community Name (Trap Notification)
Enter the community name used trap. You can enter a maximum of 31 characters. The default is NULL.
Community name that has been set will not be displayed on the screen. The original setting will remain valid if no entry is made.
Trap Notification (IP)
Notifies trap occurrence if the [Notify] check box is selected. In this case, enter the IP address and IP socket in the aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd:eeeee format. Each section of the IP address aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd is a value between 0 and 255. Note that values 127 and 224 to 254 are not valid for aaa only. IP socket eeeee is a value between 0 and 65535.
If the check box is not selected, trap occurrence will not be notified. In addition, the IP address will be reset to the default value of 0.0.0.0:0 when saved. The [Notify] check box is not selected by default.

Select the [Notify] check box to notify authentication error trap.
Transport Protocol - UDP
To change the settings for UDP protocol used in the transport layer of the SNMP agent, click [UDP]. The [TCP/IP] page is displayed.
Trap Notification (IPX)
Notifies trap occurrence if the [Notify] check box is selected. In this case, enter the IPX address in the aaaaaaaa:bbbbbbbbbbbb:cccc format. IPX network aaaaaaaa is a hexadecimal value between 0 and ffffffff, IPX node bbbbbbbbbbbb is a hexadecimal value between 0 and ffffffffffff and IPX socket cccc is a hexadecimal value between 0 and ffff.
If the check box is not selected, trap occurrence will not be notified. In addition, the IPX address will be reset to the default value of 00000000:000000000000:0000 when saved. The [Notify] check box is not selected by default.
Transport Protocol - IPX
To change the settings for IPX protocol used in the transport layer of the SNMP agent, click [IPX]. The [NetWare]
page is displayed.
