Wellness solution designed using NEC Walking Analysis Technology

Visualizing gait (walking quality) that was
imperceptible until now

Information acquired through walking is used to visualize and analyze “walking form,” which was imperceptible to us until now, and the analyzed results are used by experts to provide advice and insight on how to enhance “gait (walking quality).”

The step length, walking speed, sole angle, height and circular motion are quantified.

  • IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit)
A wearable sensor comprised of a communication module, power supply, and other components embedded into an insole.
  • Sensors take measurements in a natural manner without any conscious effort needed on the part of the user.

Reducing need to replace and recharge the battery

  • NEC has succeeded in accurately measuring and analyzing gait (walking quality) using a compact, lightweight wearable sensor developed by NEC, and NEC’s proprietary gait estimation model focusing on the human skeleton model and cyclical limb motion.
  • The wearable sensors take measurements while using minimal power, helping to reduce the need to replace and recharge the batteries.

Using an app to provide users with know-how leveraging healthcare and behavioral science.

  • We helps users achieve excellent walking posture by providing data-based advice and training for achieving the ideal gait.

The gait program app combines NEC’s walking analysis technology with insight from physical therapists at FiNC Technologies
