Overview

The following provides a brief description of the features and window layout of CentreWare Internet Services.

About CentreWare Internet Services

CentreWare Internet Services is software that enables you to display and configure the current status or settings of your scanner using a web browser on your computer.

With CentreWare Internet Services, you can configure network settings on a network-connected computer, instead of on the scanner's control panel. You can also create Address Book, which can be used when e-mailing scanned images from the scanner (the [Scan to E-mail] feature), or when exporting and saving them from the scanner onto your computer (the [Scan to PC] feature).
When you change the settings of certain items, a message saying "Reboot system for new settings to take effect." appears. If the message appears, switch the scanner off and then on again to apply the new settings.

Note the following when using CentreWare Internet Services:
  • Do not refresh your web browser too often.
  • Do not display the [Status] or [Jobs] screen on multiple web browsers.

The window of CentreWare Internet Services is organized into the following frames. The details are described in "Window Layout".

    About User Authentication

User Authentication when Changing the Settings
If you change the settings of certain items, a dialog box prompting you to enter a "user name" and "password" appears. If the dialog box appears, enter the administrator ID and password registered on the scanner. The administrator ID and password can be changed under [Internet Services Settings] on the [Properties] screen.

User Authentication when Opening a Password-locked Folder
When opening a folder locked with a password set on the [Setup Menu] screen, you will be prompted to enter a "user name" and "password". If prompted, enter the password to the folder in [Password]. You do not need to enter a user name in [User Name]. Any user names entered in this field will be invalid.
The folder can be opened also by entering the administrator ID and password.
