Protocol Settings - SNMP
This page allows you to configure the settings for SNMP.
Enable SNMP v1/v2c Protocols
To enable SNMP v1/v2c protocols, place a checkmark in the checkbox.
To edit settings, click the [Edit SNMP v1/v2c Properties} button.
Enable SNMP v3 Protocols
To enable SNMP v3 protocols, place a checkmark in the checkbox.
To edit settings, click the [Edit SNMP v3 Properties] button.
This button is available when [SSL/TLS Server Communication] is enabled.

Edit SNMP v1/v2c Properties
Configure the SNMP v1/v2c protocols.
Community Name (Read Only)
Enter the community name used for read-only access. You can enter a maximum of 31 bytes. The default is "public".
The community name is displayed in 5 asterisks (*), regardless of whether it has already been set or not.
To enter a community name, delete all the asterisks and then enter the name.
If the text box is left blank, the original setting will remain valid.
Re-enter Community Name (Read Only)
Re-enter the community name (read only) for confirmation.
Community Name (Read/Write)
Enter the community names for read-write access. You can enter a maximum of 31 bytes.
The community name is displayed in 5 asterisks (*), regardless of whether it has already been set or not.
To enter a community name, delete all the asterisks and then enter the name.
If the text box is left blank, the original setting will remain valid.
Re-enter Community Name (Read/Write)
Re-enter the community name (read/write) for confirmation.
Trap Community Name
Enter the community name used for traps. You can enter a maximum of 31 bytes. The default is SNMP_trap.
The community name is displayed in 5 asterisks (*), regardless of whether it has already been set or not.
To enter a community name, delete all the asterisks and then enter the name.
If the text box is left blank, the original setting will remain valid.
Re-enter Community Name (Trap Notification)
Re-enter the trap community name for confirmation.
Configuration 1-4
These areas allow you to configure trap notification.
Trap Address Type
Select the trap address type from the following:
- [Disabled]
If [Disabled] is selected, trap occurrences are not notified, and any address you specify here will be reset to the default (0.0.0.0:0) when saved.
- [IPv4]
Select [IPv4] if the destination is an IPv4 address.
- [IPv6]
Select [IPv6] if the destination is an IPv6 address.
Trap Destination Address
Configure the address to which trap occurrences are notified.
- To specify an IPv4 address
Enter the IPv4 address and IP socket in the "aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd:eeeee" format. Values "aaa", "bbb", and "ccc" must be numbers between 0 and 255, except that "aaa" cannot be 127 or any number between 224 and 254. The IP socket (eeeee) must be a number between 0 and 65535.
- To specify an IPv6 address
Enter the IPv6 address in the format of "aaaa:bbbb:cccc:dddd:eeee:ffff:gggg:hhhh". Each IP address field (xxxx) must be a hexadecimal value between 0 and ffff. Except the first field, zeros can be omitted. (For example, "2001:db8::1" is equal to "2001:0db8:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0001".)
Port Number
Specify the port number of the destination in the range of 0 to 65535.
Notify
Select this check box to notify trap occurrences.
Authentication Error Trap
Select the [Enable] check box to notify authentication error traps.

Edit SNMP v3 Properties
Configure the SNMP v3 protocols.
Administrator Account
This area allows you to configure the following:
Account Enabled
To allow access by the system administrator, place a checkmark in the checkbox.
User Name
Displays the user name of the system administrator.
Authentication Password (8 - 32 Bytes)
Enter an authentication password. A password can contain no less than 8 characters and up to 32 alphanumeric characters maximum. The password is displayed in asterisks (*).
Confirm Authentication Password (8 - 32 Bytes)
Re-enter the authentication password entered in [Authentication Password] for confirmation. The password is displayed in asterisks (*).
Privacy Password (8 - 32 Bytes)
Enter a privacy password. A password can contain no less than 8 characters and up to 32 alphanumeric characters maximum. The password is displayed in asterisks (*).
Confirm Privacy Password (8 - 32 Bytes)
Re-enter the privacy password entered in [Privacy Password] for confirmation. The password is displayed in asterisks (*).
Print Drivers / Remote Clients Account
This area allows you to configure the following:
Account Enabled
To allow access from print drivers, place a checkmark in the checkbox.
Reset to default Password
To reset the password to the default, click [Reset].
