You can view/edit the settings for the Authentication features, and define logged-in users information.
Configure how user authentication/accounting works.
If you switch between authentication settings, all information about users and account usage is deleted, unless you switch from [Off] to [Local].
Select this item not to authenticate users attempting to operate the printer.
When authentication is set to Off, the Account Administrator feature does not work.
Select this item to use "login-allowed" user information pre-registered with the printer.
Selecting [Local] and clicking [Save] displays the [Initial Settings] dialog box.
User information is registered from the remote accounting service.
Selecting [Network] and clicking [Save] displays the [Network Accounting Settings] dialog box.
Use this item to enable authentication against the remote authentication server. User information does not need to be registered with the printer.
Selecting [Remote] and clicking [Save] displays the [Remote Authentication Settings] dialog box.
Set information required for the authentication.
The displayed items vary depending on the authentication method implement in your environment.
Set whether to enable logging of authentication failures, and the number of login attempts to be recorded as failure.
Set whether to enable locking of the user account with system administrator permissions, and the number of login attempts allowed.
Set whether to enable locking of local users, and the number of login attempts allowed.
This item is displayed when configuring [Local].
Set the timeout time applied when accessing the server.
This item is displayed when configuring [Remote] or [Network].
Set the timeout time applied when searching user information.
This item is displayed when configuring [Remote] or [Network].
Set the way how logged-in user ID is displayed.
Set whether to retrieve remote user information.
Set whether to store user information used during remote authentication in the printer.
When the storing of login information into the device is enabled, once a user completes remote authentication, information on the user is stored in the printer, and thus the user can log in to the printer using user information stored in the printer even when the remote authentication server is not started at remote authentication.
If you set [Cache Login Credentials on Device] to [Save], set whether to periodically delete user details stored upon remote authentication in the printer.
User details can also be deleted manually.
Set whether to use the UPN (User Principal Name) format for user names.
When [Log In to Remote Accounts] is selected in [Authentication/Accounting Type], set whether to allow users that are not registered with the remote authentication server to use the printer as guest users.
Set a password for guests.
Enter the password for guests again for confirmation.
Set whether to use IC card.
Set whether to use the IC card link mode.
Set character types allowed for user IDs at authentication.
Configure how passwords are handled at authentication.
Set whether to restrict the minimum length of login passwords.
If you choose to restrict the minimum length, also set the minimum number of characters.
Set the maximum number of characters for login passwords.
Set whether to use user names of their login password strings.
Set character restrictions for the login password strings.
Set whether to display a confirmation screen when users logged out from the system.
View/edit the settings for the accounting management feature, and define user account information.
