Protocol Settings - E-mail
This page allows you to configure the settings for E-mail and StatusMessenger.
Machine E-mail Address
Enter not more than 63 alphanumeric characters as the machine E-mail Address. The characters that can be entered include alphanumeric characters, period (.), hyphen (-), underscore (_), and at mark (@).
When the user sends an e-mail to the device, it should be sent to this address. This address is displayed at "From" in the receiver's email.
SMTP Server Address
Enter the IP address of outgoing mail server connected on SMTP protocol.
Get SMTP Server Address
Select the check box when the SMTP server address is set up automatically using DHCP. If the check box of this item is selected, the above address setting will be ignored.
If Get SMTP Server Address is set to DHCP, set also Get IP Address for [TCP/IP] to DHCP.
SMTP Server Connection Status
Displays one of the following 5 messages according to the status of connection to the outgoing mail server.
- Disabled
Mail port is inactive.
- Not connected
Conditions before the first mail is sent (SMTP) or received (POP3) after the mail port became active.
- Connecting...
Conditions after sending/receiving of mail (SMTP/POP3) started (i.e. the machine is connected to the server) and before it is completed (i.e. the mashine is disconnected from the server).
- Ready
Conditions where the sending/receiving of mail (SMTP/POP3) was completed normally. Continue until the sending/receiving of the next mail (SMTP/POP3) starts.
- Unable to connect
Conditions where the sending/receiving of mail (SMTP/POP3) was not completed normally. Continue until the sending/receiving of the next mail (SMTP/POP3) starts.
POP3 Server Address
Enter the IP address of incoming mail server connected on POP3 protocol.
POP User Name
Enter the user name for incoming mail server up to 15 characters. The characters that can be entered include alphanumeric characters, period (.), hyphen (-), underscore (_), and at mark (@).
POP User Password
Enter the password for incoming mail server up to 15 alphanumeric characters and symbols.
POP3 Server Check Interval
Allows the user to set the interval to check whether new emails are sent to incoming mail server. The interval range is from 1 to 255 minute(s).
APOP Settings
Select [On] when incoming mail server corresponds to APOP.
POP3 Server Connection Status
Displays one of the 5 messages according to the status of connection to the incoming mail server. Refer to [SMTP Server Connection Status] for details about displayed contents.
Transport Protocol - TCP/IP
To change the TCP/IP settings, click [TCP/IP] on the page. [TCP/IP] page is displayed.
Retrieve E-mail Now
Click this button to check whether new mails have arrived at the incoming mail server.
This button appears only when StatusMessenger port is enabled.
Permitted E-mail Address
E-mail Address 1-4
To impose e-mail restrictions, enter the permitted e-mail address with not more than 31 characters. The characters that can be entered include alphanumeric characters, period (.), hyphen (-), underscore (_), and at mark (@).
You can specify up to 4 permitted e-mail addresses. If none is specified, all e-mails are permitted.
Password
Password for Read-Only Data
When setting a read-only password, select the [Enable Password] check box and enter a password of not more than 7 alphanumeric characters in the text box on the right.
This password is used when the user sends an e-mail to the device to check each information. Access is denied if the [Enable Password] check box is selected but no password is entered.
Deselecting the [Enable Password] check box clears the password.
Password for Full Access
When setting a full access (both read/write) password, select the [Enable Password] check box and enter a password of not more than 7 alphanumeric characters in the text box on the right.
This password is used when the user sends e-mail to the device to check information or change settings. Access is denied if the [Enable Password] check box is selected but no password is entered.
Deselecting the [Enable Password] check box clears the password.
StatusMessenger
Recipient E-mail Address
Enter the e-mail address, with not more than 255 characters, to notify the status change. The characters that can be entered include alphanumeric characters, period (.), hyphen (-), underscore (_), and at mark (@).
An e-mail will be sent to this address when the status type specified in [Notification Items] has occurred in the device.
Notification Items
Allows the user to configure the status type to notify by e-mail.
E-mail Notification Interval
Allows the user to set the interval to check the device status. The interval range is from 1 to 255 minute(s). An e-mail to notify the status will be sent when the status type specified in [Notification Items] has occurred in the device.
