[IPsec] Dialog Box


You can configure printer settings for enabling IPsec communication between the printer and client computers. This setting is available when your computer supports IPsec.

If you send data from a computer to the printer via the IPsec protocol, all data packets are encrypted.

Note

This setting becomes available when you restart the printer from CentreWare Internet Services or manually turn off and on the printer on the operator panel of the printer.

[Enable]

Specify whether to enable the IPsec protocol.

[IKE Authentication Method]

This item appears when the IPsec protocol is enabled.

Displays "Preshared Key" as the IKE authentication method.

[Preshared Key]

This item appears when the IPsec protocol is enabled.

Enter a preshared key. The following characters can be entered:

[Retype Preshared Key]

This item appears when the IPsec protocol is enabled.

Enter the same character string in [Preshared Key].

[IKE SA Lifetime]

This item appears when the IPsec protocol is enabled.

Enter the IKE SA Lifetime (in minutes). The IKE SA Lifetime must be the same or longer than the IPsec SA Lifetime.

[IPsec SA Lifetime]

This item appears when the IPsec protocol is enabled.

Enter the IPsec SA Lifetime (in minutes). The IPsec SA Lifetime must be the same or shorter than the IKE SA Lifetime.

[DH Group]

This item appears when the IPsec protocol is enabled.

Select the DH group.

[PFS]

This item appears when the IPsec protocol is enabled.

Specify whether to enable PFS.

[Specify Destination IPv4 Address]

This item appears when the IPsec protocol is enabled.

When using the printer in the IPv4 environment, enter the destination IP address in the IPv4 format.

The following formats of the IP address are available:

[Specify Destination IPv6 Address]

This item appears when the IPsec protocol is enabled.

When using the printer in the IPv6 environment, enter the destination IP address in the IPv6 format.

The following formats of the IP address are available:

[Communicate with Non-IPsec Devices]

This item appears when the IPsec protocol is enabled.

Select the method for handling communications with devices that do not support IPsec.
