Logical Printer Settings - PostScript
This page allows you to configure PostScript logical printers.
This item does not appear when the printer does not support PostScript.
Logical Printer Number
Enter the number of the logical printer to be registered or edited, and click the [Edit] button.
If requesting print jobs using lpr commands, specify this number as the printer (queue) name.
[Edit] button
Clicking this button displays a page which allows you to configure the detailed settings. The items that can be configured are described in "PostScript Logical Printer Settings".
PostScript Logical Printer Settings
Set the following items to configure the details of a PostScript logical printer.
The following feature may not be available depending on the model of your printer and the options installed. The menus and items of the features not supported by the printer are not displayed.
Login Printer Number
Displays the logical printer that is currently being edited.
Paper Tray
Set the paper tray to be used when printing.
Output Size
Set the paper size to be used when printing.
Paper Type
Set the type of paper to be used when printing.
Print Quantity Setup
Set the method of specifying the print quantity.
- [Not Selected]
Does not specify the method of specifying the print quantity.
- [PostScript]
Uses the quantity described in PostScript.
- [Logical Printer Settings]
Uses the quantity specified in [Quantity].
- [Task/PJL]
Uses the quantity specified by protocol (lpr - # option) or described in PJL.
Quantity
Set the number of copies to be printed within the range of 0 to 999. However, 0 is not valid.
2 Sided Printing
Set whether or not to print 2 sided.
Print Mode
Set the print mode.
Collated
Set whether or not to collate output.
Image Enhancement
Select this check box if using the Image Enhancement feature.
Bypass Tray - Wait User
Select this check box if you want the printer to wait until you feed paper when using the bypass tray.
PostScript Paper Supply
Set whether or not to enable the DMS (Deferred Media Selection) feature of PostScript.
If enabling the feature, select this check box. If you enable this feature, the printer will print your job if it supports the paper size specified by the job. If the printer does not accommodate paper of that size, your job will be held until the paper is loaded in the paper tray. If the printer does not support the paper size specified by the job, the job will be printed on paper of the default paper size. To disable the DMS feature, deselect this check box.
[Delete] button
If the settings of a logical printer that is already registered is displayed on the window, the [Delete] button appears at the upper right corner of the frame. Click this button if you want to delete the logical printer.
[Save] button
Transfers the settings to the printer and registers the logical printer.
[Undo] button
Resets the settings to their original values without transferring them to the printer.
[Back] button
Returns to the previous page without transferring the settings to the printer.
