Logical Printer Settings - ESC/P
This page allows you to configure ESC/P logical printers.
Logical Printer Number
Enter the number of the logical printer to be registered or edited, and click the [Edit] button.
If requesting print jobs using lpr commands, specify this number as the printer (queue) name.
[Edit] button
Clicking this button displays a page that allows you to configure the detailed settings. The items that can be configured are described in "ESC/P Logical Printer Settings". For more information, refer to the Emulation Setting Guide in the CD-ROM provided with the printer.
ESC/P Logical Printer Settings
Set the following items to configure the details of an ESC/P logical printer.
The following features may not be available depending on the model of your printer and the options installed. The menus and items of the features not supported by the printer are not displayed.
Logical Printer Number
Displays the number of the logical printer that is currently being edited.
Document Size
Set the size of documents to be printed.
Paper Tray
Set the paper tray to be used when printing.
Output Size
Set the paper size to be used when printing.
Output Orientation
Set the print orientation to portrait or landscape.
Page Position
Set the page position by enabling or disabling the cut sheet feeder setting. Select the check box when enabling the cut sheet feeder setting.
Quantity
Set the number of copies to be printed within the range of 1 to 250.
2 Sided Printing
Set whether or not to print 2 sided.
Multiple-Up
Set whether or not to use the Multiple-Up feature.
Zoom Mode
Set the method of reducing/enlarging output.
Variable Y%
Set the magnification for Y direction within the range of 45 to 210%.
Variable X%
Set the magnification for X direction within the range of 45 to 210%.
Up/Down Adjustment
If adjusting the print area in vertical direction, set the adjustment value within the range of -250 to 250 mm.
Left/Right Adjustment
If adjusting the print area in horizontal direction, set the adjustment value within the range of -250 to 250 mm.
Number of characters
Set whether or not to extend the right margin.
Page Length
Set the length of one page (print area).
1 inch Skip
Select this check box if leaving 1-inch space between pages.
Skip Blank Pages
Select this check box if skipping blank pages during printing.
Feed Position
Set the position on paper where printing starts. Specify the position by the length from the top edge of paper.
Kanji Font
Set the font for double-byte characters (kanji).
Alphanumeric Font
Set the font for single-byte characters (ANK).
Kanji Code Table
Set the code table to be used for kanji.
Character Code Table
Set the code table to be used for single-byte alphanumeric characters.
Character Code
Set the character code.
Minimum Text
Select this check box to print single-byte characters in a reduced size. To print single-byte characters in the original size, deselect this check box.
Ruled Line
Set the method of printing double-byte ruled lines.
Specify Extension
An "extension" is the first two bytes of an extended command. Select this check box is you want to enable the specified extension. When the extension is enabled, printing can be controlled using text codes.
Extension
Set the extension (first two bytes) of an extended command if you want to enable printing by text codes.
Prefix of binary data
Print commands that includes the specific four characters will be displayed in hexadecimal numbers.
Handle CR As
If CR is used as the end-of-line code, set whether or not to add LF after CR. If adding LF, select this check box.
Form Type
Set the type of form to be used when using the Form Overlay feature.
Form Overlay
Set the file name of the form to be used when using the Form Overlay feature.
Image Enhancement
Select this check box if using the Image Enhancement feature.
Draft Mode
Select this check box to enable Draft Mode. This mode reduces print quality but increases print speed.
Bypass Tray - Wait User
Select this check box if you want the printer to wait until you feed paper when using the bypass tray.
0 Style
Set the character style of the number "0".
[Delete] button
If the settings of a logical printer that is already registered is displayed on the window, the [Delete] button appears at the upper right corner of the frame. Click this button if you want to delete the logical printer.
[Save] button
Transfers the setting to the printer and registers the logical printer.
[Undo] button
Resets the settings to their original values without transferring them to the printer.
[Back] button
Returns to the previous page without transferring the settings to the printer.
