Protocol Settings - NetWare
This page allows you to configure the settings for Netware, IPX/SPX transport protocol, and SLP.
The printer only supports PServer mode. To use the printer in NetWare environments, you must set up a NetWare server in addition to the settings on this page. To set up a NetWare server, you must configure a print server object, printer object, and queue object. For details, refer to the manuals or online help provided for NetWare.
This item does not appear if your printer does not support NetWare.
The following settings will become valid after rebooting the printer from CentreWare Internet Services or manually switching it off and then on again.
Host Name
Enter the name of the printer within 47 bytes.
Enter the print server name of the PServer Mode (print server object name).
The following characters cannot be used:
; (semi-colon), : (colon), * (asterisk), ? (question mark), . (period), , (comma), \ (yen sign or backslash), " (double quotation mark), <> (lesser than and greater than signs), [] (square brackets), +=- (arithmetic signs), | (pipe), / (slash), (space)
Active Mode
Select the Active Mode of the printer when using NetWare.
- Bindery:PServer Mode
Select this option when using the print server mode in NetWare Bindery Service.
- Directory:PServer Mode
Select this option when using the print server mode in NetWare Directory Service.
Tree Name
Enter the tree name within 32 bytes.
Configure this item only when NetWare Directory Service is used.
The following characters cannot be used:

Context Name
Enter the context name of the Print Server Object within 256 bytes.
Configure this item only when NetWare Directory Service is used.
File Server Name
Enter the file server name within 47 bytes.
Configure this item only when NetWare Bindery Service is used.
The following characters cannot be used:

Polling Interval
Set the time interval from when print data enters the print queue until printing starts. The time interval can be set within the range of 1 to 1,000 seconds.
Configure this item only when PServer Mode is used.
NCP Packet Burst
Set whether or not to use NCP packet burst.
Configure this item only when PServer Mode is used.
Password
Enter the print server password within 32 bytes. The password entered will be displayed in asterisks (*).
Re-enter Password
Re-enter the password entered in [Password] for verification.
Status
The following messages appear according to the condition of the printer. The messages will be updated when you click the [Refresh] button.

Transport Protocol - IPX/SPX Settings
Configure the settings for IPX/SPX protocol used in NetWare's transport layer.
Frame Type
Select IPX/SPX frame type from the following:
- Auto
Automatically configures the active frame type.
- Ethernet II
Uses Ethernet II frame type.
- Ethernet 802.3
Uses IEEE802.3 frame type.
- Ethernet 802.2
Uses IEEE802.2 frame type.
- Ethernet SNAP
Uses SNAP frame type.
Current Frame Type
Displays the current frame type.
Network Address
Displays the IPX network address.
SLP
Configure the following item for SLP.
Active Discovery
Select this check box when enabling the automatic search feature of the SLP directory agent.
