Security - IPsec
This page allows you to configure printer settings for enabling IPsec communications between the printer and client computers.
If you send data from a computer to the printer via the IPsec protocol, all data packets are encrypted.
This feature is not available if your computer does not support IPsec.
The following settings will become valid after you reboot the printer from CentreWare Internet Services or manually switch it off and then on again.
Protocol
Select the [Enabled] check box to use the IPsec protocol.
IKE Authentication Method
[Preshared Key] is displayed as the IKE authentication method.
Shared Key
Specify a preshared key. Delete all the asterisks, and then enter the preshared key using up to 255-digit alphanumeric characters.
A null or blank, and a comma cannot be used.
Verify Shared Key
Delete all the asterisks, and then re-enter the same preshared key for verification.
IKE SA Life Time
Specify the IKE SA life time (in minutes) within the range of 5 to 28,800.
The IKE SA Life Time must be longer than IPsec SA Life Time.
IPsec SA Life Time
Specify the IPsec SA life time (in minutes) within the range of 5 to 2,880.
The IPsec SA Life Time must be shorter than the IKE SA Life Time.
DH Group
Select a DH group from [G1] and [G2].
PFS
To enable PFS, select the [Enabled] check box.
Specify Destination IPv4 Address
When using the printer in the IPv4 environment, enter the destination IPv4 address (IP address) in the IPv4 format.
The blocks are divided by periods or colons. Preceding zeros can be omitted as long as nothing else precedes them within the same block.
For example, "192.168.1.10" is equivalent to " 192.168.001.010".
Specify Destination IPv6 Address
When using the printer in the IPv6 environment, enter the destination IPv6 address (IP address) in the IPv6 format.
The blocks are divided by periods or colons. Preceding zeros can be omitted as long as nothing else precedes them within the same block.
For example, "2001:db8::1" is equivalent to " "2001:0db8:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0001".
Communicate with Non-IPsec Device
Specify how to handle communications with devices that do not support IPsec. You can select [Bypass] or [Discard].
