Security - IP Filter

This page allows you to configure the settings of the IP Filter for jobs to be received with the LPD and Port 9100 protocols. Enter the IP addresses and address masks that you want the printer to control connections from and select [Reject], [Permit], or [Off]. The addresses must be in IPv4 format. Addresses in IPv6 format cannot be registered.

Setting Order of IP Addresses/Address Masks
You can set a maximum of five IP addresses/address masks, and the first pair will be given a priority. If setting multiple IP addresses/address masks, enter the pair that covers the smallest area first.

Setting [IP Filter]

To permit printing from a specific user:
Example:
Permit printing from "192.168.100.10".

Procedure

In the IP Address field 1, enter "192.168.100.10".
In the Address Mask field 1, enter "255.255.255.255".
Select [Permit].
Click [Apply].

To reject printing from a specific user:
Example:
Reject printing from "192.168.100.50".

Procedure

In the IP Address field 1, enter "192.168.100.50".
In the Address Mask field 1, enter "255.255.255.255".
Select [Reject].
In the IP Address field 2, enter "0.0.0.0".
In the Address Mask field 2, enter "0.0.0.0".
Select [Permit].
Click [Apply].

To permit printing from a specific network address, reject printing from a particular address within the network, but permit printing from a particular user within the rejected address.
Example:
(1) Permit printing from "192.168.200.10"
(2) Reject printing from "192.168.200.xxx" excluding (1)
(3) Permit printing from "192.168.xxx.xxx" excluding (2)

Procedure

In the IP Address field 1, enter "192.168.200.10".
In the Address Mask field 1, enter "255.255.255.255".
Select [Permit].
In the IP Address field 2, enter "192.168.200.0".
In the Address Mask field 2, enter "255.255.255.0".
Select [Reject].
In the IP Address field 3, enter "192.168.0.0".
In the Address Mask field 3, enter "255.255.0.0".
Select [Permit].
Click [Apply].
