Protocol Settings - TCP/IP
This page allows you to configure the printer's host name, IP address, subnet mask, gateway address, and DNS server address. The methods for obtaining these addresses can be selected under [Get IP Address], and [Get DNS Server Address].
When setting the IP address, verify the contents of the settings with your network administrator. The addresses for [Machine IP Address], [Subnet Mask] and [Gateway Address] must be those that actually exist.
The following settings will become valid after rebooting the printer from CentreWare Internet Services or manually switching it off and then on again.
Host Name
Enter the host name within 47 bytes. The characters that can be entered include alphanumeric characters and hyphens (-).
Get IP Address
Set the method for obtaining the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address with one of the following options.
- Manual
The user will specify all the addresses.
- DHCP
The addresses will automatically be set via DHCP. When this is selected, the addresses entered in the following items will be ignored.
- BOOTP
The addresses will automatically be set via BOOTP. When this is selected, the addresses entered in the following items will be ignored.
- RARP
The addresses will automatically be set via RARP. When this is selected, the addresses entered in the following items will be ignored.
- DHCP/Autonet
The addresses will automatically be set via DHCP/Autonet. When this is selected, the addresses entered in the following items will be ignored.
Machine IP Address
Enter the IP address allocated to the printer in the "aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd" format.
The "aaa", "bbb", "ccc", and "ddd" must be numbers between 0 and 255. However, "aaa" cannot be 127 or any number between 224 and 254.
Subnet Mask
Enter subnet mask in the "aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd" format.
The "aaa", "bbb", "ccc", and "ddd" must be numbers between 0 and 255. However, 255.255.255.255 is invalid.
Gateway Address
Enter the gateway address in the "aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd" format.
The "aaa", "bbb", "ccc", and "ddd" must be numbers between 0 and 255. However, "aaa" cannot be 127 or any number between 224 and 254.
DNS
Set the following items if using DNS.
Get DNS Server Address
Select this check box when automatically setting the DNS server address using DHCP. When this check box is selected, the addresses entered in the following items will be ignored.
If you set the method of obtaining the DNS server address to DHCP, the method for obtaining the IP address must also be set to DHCP.
DNS Server Address
Enter the DNS server address in the "aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd" format. The "aaa", "bbb", "ccc", and "ddd" must be numbers between 0 and 255. However, "aaa" cannot be 127 or any number between 224 and 254.
DNS Domain Name
Enter the domain name within 255 bytes. The characters that can be entered include alphanumeric characters, periods (.), and hyphens (-).
