How to Use This Help

The "Contents" on the left shows the links to the available topics. Clicking on a topic will automatically take you to that page.
Topics are displayed in color of link. Please read them carefully.

Navigating the Help Window

Switching to another CentreWare Internet Services page while this Help window is displayed will not alter the contents of the Help.

Once the Help window becomes smaller, it does not automatically revert itself to the full size. If you want to resize the window, you must do so manually.

If the Help window is hidden behind other windows, click on any visible part of the window to bring it to the front. Once the window is hidden, it does not come forward automatically.

When a topic is selected, its description appears at the top of the page. If the description is at the bottom of a page, it may appear from the middle instead of the top.

Changing the Font Size and Window Size

To change the font size, change the font settings on your web browser.

To change the size of the Help window, do so as you would with other windows.

Setting Up Your Web Browser

Before using the CentreWare Internet Services, set up your web browser by completing the following steps.

You can launch the CentreWare Internet Services only when [InternetServices] is set to [Enable] (the factory default) on the operator panel. Check the operator panel setting if you cannot launch the CentreWare Internet Services.

The CentreWare Internet Services pages may be unreadable if the language differs from that of your operating system.

When Using Internet Explorer 8.0 (Windows)

To set the display language:

Procedure

From [Tools] on the menu bar, select [Internet Options].

On the [General] tab, click the [Languages] button.

Specify the display language to be used at the top of the [Language] list.
Example:
English (United States) [en-us]
Click the [OK] button.

On the [Internet Options] screen, click the [OK] button.

To set the printer IP address not to use a proxy server:

Procedure

From [Tools] on the menu bar, select [Internet Options].

On the [Connections] tab, click the [LAN settings] button.

Set [Proxy server] by one of the following methods:

Clear the [Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections).] check box.

Click the [Advanced] button, set the printer's IP address in [Exceptions], and then click the [OK] button.

Click the [OK] button.

On the [Internet Options] screen, click the [OK] button.

To enable JavaScript^®:

Procedure

From [Tools] on the menu bar, select [Internet Options].

On the [Security] tab, select [Local intranet], and click the [Custom level] button.

Scroll to find the [Scripting] header, and ensure that [Active scripting] is enabled.

Click the [OK] button.

On the [Internet Options] screen, click the [OK] button.

When Using Mozilla^® Firefox^® 2.0 (Windows)

To set the display language:

Procedure

From [Tools] on the menu bar, select [Options].

Select [Advanced] on the [Options] dialog box.

On the [General] tab, click the [Choose] button.

Specify the display language to be used at the top of the [Languages in order of preference] list.
Example:
English [en] or English/United States [en-us]

Click the [OK] button.

On the [Options] dialog box, click the [OK] button.

To set the printer's IP address not to use a proxy server:

Procedure

From [Tools] on the menu bar, select [Options].

Select [Advanced] on the [Options] dialog box.

On the [Network] tab, click the [Settings] button.

Do one of the following:

Select [Direct connection to the Internet].

Select [Auto-detect proxy settings for this network].

Select [Manual proxy configuration], and then enter a hostname and a port number if you have a list of one or more proxy servers. If you have an IP address that does not use a proxy, enter the IP address of your printer in the [No Proxy for] edit box.

Select [Automatic proxy configuration URL], and then enter a proxy configuration file's URL. Click the [Reload] button to load the settings.

Click the [OK] button.

On the [Options] dialog box, click the [OK] button.

To enable JavaScript:

Procedure

From [Tools] on the menu bar, select [Options].

On the [Options] dialog box, select [Content].

Select the [Enable JavaScript] check box.

On the [Options] dialog box, click the [OK] button.

When Using Mozilla Firefox 3.0 (Windows)

To set the display language:

Procedure

From [Tools] on the menu bar, select [Options].

Select [Content] on the [Options] dialog box.

Click the [Choose] button under [Languages].

Specify the display language to be used at the top of the [Languages in order of preference] list.
Example:
English [en] or English/United States [en-us]

Click the [OK] button.

On the [Options] dialog box, click the [OK] button.

To set the printer IP address not to use a proxy server:

Select [No proxy], if you do not want to use a proxy.

Select [Manual proxy configuration], and then enter a hostname and a port number if you have a list of one or more proxy servers. If you have an IP address that does not use a proxy, enter the IP address of your printer in the [No Proxy for] edit box.

Select [Automatic proxy configuration URL], and then enter a proxy configuration file's URL. Click the [Reload] button to load the settings.

Click the [OK] button.

On the [Options] dialog box, click the [OK] button.

To enable JavaScript:

Procedure

From [Tools] on the menu bar, select [Options].

Select [Content] on the [Options] dialog box.

Select the [Enable JavaScript] check box.

On the [Options] dialog box, click the [OK] button.

When Using Safari 5.0 (Mac OS X)

To set the display language:

Procedure

Select [System Preferences] from Dock.

Select [Language & Text] in [Personal].

Select [Language].

Specify the display language to be used at the top of the languages list.
Example:
English

Close the language setting screen.

Restart the computer.

To set the printer's IP address not to use a proxy server:

Procedure

From [Safari] on the menu bar, select [Preferences].

Select [Advanced].

Click the [Change Settings] button next to [Proxies].

Select one of the following settings:

Clear the [Web Proxy (HTTP)] or [Secure Web Proxy (HTTPS)] check box under [Select a protocol to configure].

Select the [Web Proxy (HTTP)] or [Secure Web Proxy (HTTPS)] check box under [Select a protocol to configure], and then enter the printer's IP address in [Bypass proxy settings for these Hosts & Domains].

Click the [OK] button.

Click the [Apply] button.

Close the [Network] screen.

Close the preferences setting screen.

To enable JavaScript:

Procedure

From [Safari] on the menu bar, select [Preferences].

Select [Security].

Select the [Enable JavaScript] check box for [Web content].

Close the preferences setting screen.

When Using Mozilla Firefox 2.0 (Mac OS X)

To set the display language:

Procedure

From [Firefox] on the menu bar, select [Preferences].

Select [Advanced].

On the [General] tab, click the [Choose] button.

Specify the display language to be used at the top of the [Languages in order of preference] list.
Example:
English [en] or English/United States [en-us]

Click the [OK] button on the language setting screen.

Close the preferences setting screen.
