Protocol Settings - TCP/IP

This page allows you to configure the printer's host name, IP address, subnet mask (for IPv4), gateway address, and DNS server address. The methods for obtaining these addresses can be selected under [IP Address Mode] and [Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically].

When setting the IP address, verify the contents of the settings with your network administrator. The IP address, subnet mask (for IPv4), and gateway address must be those that actually exist.
The following settings will become valid after rebooting the printer from the CentreWare Internet Services or manually switching it off and on again.

Host Name

IP Mode

IPv4
Select this to use IPv4 address for communication on the Internet.

Dual Stack
Select this to use both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses for communication on the Internet. When this is selected, you can set IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.

IPv4

IP Address Mode
Select the method for obtaining the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address with one of the following options.

DHCP/AutoIP
The addresses are automatically set via DHCP/AutoIP. When this is selected, the addresses entered in the following items will be ignored.

DHCP
The addresses are automatically set via DHCP. When this is selected, the addresses entered in the following items will be ignored.

BOOTP
The addresses are automatically set via BOOTP. When this is selected, the addresses entered in the following items will be ignored.

RARP
The addresses are automatically set via RARP. When this is selected, the addresses entered in the following items will be ignored.

Manual
The user specifies all the addresses manually.

Machine IP Address
Enter the IP address allocated to the printer in the "aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd" format.
The "aaa", "bbb", "ccc", and "ddd" must be numbers between 0 and 255. However, "aaa" cannot be 127 or any number between 224 and 255.

Subnet Mask
Enter the subnet mask in the "aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd" format.
The "aaa", "bbb", "ccc", and "ddd" must be numbers between 0 and 255. However, 255.255.255.255 is invalid.

Gateway Address
Enter the gateway address in the "aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd" format.
The "aaa", "bbb", "ccc", and "ddd" must be numbers between 0 and 255. However, "aaa" cannot be 127 or any number between 224 and 255.

IPv6

Enable Manual Address
Select this check box to enable manual setting of the IPv6 address.

IP Address
Enter the IP address in the "aaaa:bbbb:cccc:dddd:eeee:ffff:gggg:hhhh" format. Each IP address field should be a hexadecimal value between 0 and ffff.
Except the first field, zeros can be omitted. For example, "2001:db8::1" is equal to "2001:0db8:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0001".
Enter the prefix length within the range of 0 to 128. Normally, set this to 64.

Stateless Address 1
Stateless Address 2
Stateless Address 3
Displays stateless addresses assigned by the IPv6 router connected to the network.

Link-Local Address
Displays an IP address which is used for communication on the same subnet.

Gateway Address
Enter the gateway address.

Automatically Configured Gateway Address
Displays a gateway address assigned by the IPv6 router connected to the network.

Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically

DNS Server Address
Enter the DNS server address in the "aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd" format.
The "aaa", "bbb", "ccc", and "ddd" must be numbers between 0 and 255. However, "aaa" cannot be 127 or any number between 224 and 255.

IPv6

Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically

DNS Server Address
Enter the DNS server address in the "aaaa:bbbb:cccc:dddd:eeee:ffff:gggg:hhhh" format.
Each IP address field should be a hexadecimal value between 0 and ffff. Except the first field, zeros can be omitted. For example, "2001:db8::1" is equal to "2001:0db8:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0001".
