[Ethernet]


Set up the communication environment that uses Ethernet.

Note

This setting takes effect after the printer is restarted from Internet Services, or is turned off and then on again from the printer's control panel.

[Ethernet]

[MAC Address]

Displays the MAC address.

[Network Name]

Displays the name of the interface. Click the [Change Network Name] button to change the network name.

[Rated Speed]

Set the Ethernet communication speed. If you select [Auto], the printer automatically detects the communication speed and full/half duplex settings, and switches to them.

[Common]

Displays the host name, IP mode, and whether IPv6 has priority during name resolution.

To edit the settings, click [Edit] to display the [Common] dialog box.

[Host Name]

Displays the host name. The name can also be changed.

[Primary Network]

Allows you to set the primary network for the printer.

Only the multi-interface configuration is displayed.

[IP Mode]

Set the mode to use.

Note

If you select [IPv6], Wi-Fi Direct cannot be used.

[Prioritize IPv6 at Domain Name Resolution]

This item is displayed when [IP Mode] is set to [Dual Stack].

Set whether to prioritize IPv6 during name resolution.

[Energy Efficient Ethernet] (Power-saving Ethernet)

Set whether to enable support of power-saving Ethernet (Energy Efficient Ethernet).

When enabled, the power consumption of the printer is reduced if the connection destination device supports the power-saving Ethernet feature.


[IPv4]

Displays the IPv4 address settings.

To edit the settings, click [Edit] to display the [IPv4] dialog box.

[IP Address Resolution]

Set how to get the printer's IP address.

[IP Address]

Displays the IP address.

When [IP Address Resolution] is set to [STATIC], you can enter the IP address that is assigned to the printer.

[Subnet Mask]

Displays the subnet mask.

When [IP Address Resolution] is set to [STATIC], you can enter a subnet mask.

[Gateway Address]

Display the gateway address.

When [IP Address Resolution] is set to [STATIC], you can enter a gateway address.

[Release IP When Powered Off]

Set whether to free up the IP address when the printer is turned off.


[IPv6]

Displays the IPv6 address settings.

To edit the settings, click [Edit] to display the [IPv6] dialog box.

[Link-Local Address]

Display the link local address.

[Self-Assigned Address 1 to 3]

Displays IPv6 addresses assigned automatically.

[DHCP]

[DHCPv6]

Displays the purpose of using DHCPv6.

This setting can be changed if the feature for changing the purpose of DHCPv6 is enabled.

[Manual Address]

Set whether to configure IPv6 addresses manually.

Note

Getting the automatically set address will be done even if this item is enabled.

[IP Address]

This item is displayed when [Manual Address] is enabled.

Enter the IP address that is assigned to the printer and the length of the prefix.

[Gateway Address]

This item is displayed when [Manual Address] is enabled.

Enter a gateway address.

[Automatically Configured Gateway Address]

This item is displayed when [Manual Address] is enabled.

The displayed gateway address is the one that has been assigned by the IPv6 router connected to the network.


[DNS Configuration]

Displays the DNS settings.

To edit the settings, click [Edit] to display the [DNS Configuration] dialog box.

[Domain Name]

Enter the domain name.

[Connection Timeout]

Enter the amount of time after which DNS connection timeout occurs. If receiving data halts on the way, after the amount of time specified here has elapsed, the connection to the printer is timed out.

[IPv4 DNS Servers]

[Get IP Address from DHCP]

Set whether to get address from DHCP.

[DNS Server Address 1 to 3]

Displays the DNS server addresses for IPv4.

[Dynamic DNS Registration]

This item is displayed when IP Mode is set to IPv4 or Dual Stack.

Set whether to enable IPv4 dynamic DNS registration.

[Dynamic DNS Registration (Overwrite)]

This item is displayed when IP Mode is set to IPv4 or Dual Stack, and IPv4 dynamic DNS registration is enabled.

Set whether to allow overwriting during IPv4 dynamic DNS registration.

[IPv6 DNS Servers]

[Get IP Address from DHCPv6-lite]

Set whether to get address from DHCPv6-lite.

[DNS Server Address 1 to 3]

Displays the DNS server addresses for IPv6.

[Dynamic DNS Registration]

This item is displayed when IP Mode is set to IPv6 or Dual Stack.

Set whether to enable IPv6 dynamic DNS registration.

[Dynamic DNS Registration (Overwrite)]

This item is displayed when IP Mode is set to IPv6 or Dual Stack, and IPv6 dynamic DNS registration is enabled.

Set whether to allow overwriting during IPv6 dynamic DNS registration.

[DNS Search Domains]

[Generate Domain Search List Automatically]

Set whether to create a domain searching list automatically.

[Primary Domain] / [Alternate Domain 1] /[Alternate Domain 2]

These items are displayed when [Generate Domain Search List Automatically] is disabled.

Enter the name of the search domain.


[802.1X]

Configure the settings for enabling IEEE 802.1X authentication on your network. This item can be used when your network supports IEEE 802.1X.

To edit the settings, click [Setup] to display the [802.1X] dialog box.

[802.1X]

Set whether to enable the EEE 802.1X protocol.

[Authentication Method]

Set the authentication method for IEEE 802.1X.

[Server Certificate Verification]

Set whether to verify server certificate.

[User Name]

Enter a user name (device name) to use when logging in to IEEE 802.1X authentication. This field cannot be left blank.

[Password]

Enter a password to use when logging in to IEEE 802.1X authentication. This field cannot be left blank.

[Retype Password]

Enter the same string as that you entered in [Password].
