Protocol Settings - IP Filter

This page allows you to set the IP Filter settings. To set the IP address and address mask for the IP Filter, enter a value between 0 and 255 and select the operation (Accept, Reject, Disabled).

The flow of setup

You can set up a maximum of five items and the first item takes priority. Enter the shortest address first before proceeding to the next longer address for setting multiple filters.

Procedure - IP Filter

Permit printing from a specified user
The following procedure describes how to permit printing from IP address "192.168.100.10".

Procedures
  1. Enter "192.168.100.10" in the IP Address field 1 and "255.255.255.255" in the Address Mask field 1.

  2. Select [Accept].

  3. Click [Apply New Settings].

Reject printing from a specified user
The following procedure describes how to reject printing from the IP address "192.168.100.50".

Procedures

  1. Enter "192.168.100.50" in the IP Address field 1 and "255.255.255.255" in the Address Mask field 1.

  2. Select [Reject].

  3. Enter "0.0.0.0" in the IP Address field 2 and "0.0.0.0" in the Address Mask field 2.

  4. Select [Accept].

  5. Click [Apply New Settings].

Permit printing from specified network address and reject printing from certain network address
You can permit printing from network address "192.168" and reject printing from the network address "192.168.200". However, the example below describes how to permit printing from IP address "192.168.200.10".

Procedures

  1. Enter "192.168.200.10" in the IP Address field 1 and "255.255.255.255" in the Address Mask field 1.

  2. Select [Accept].

  3. Enter "192.168.200.0" in the IP Address field 2 and "255.255.255.0" in the Address Mask field 2.

  4. Select [Reject].

  5. Enter "192.168.0.0" in the IP Address field 3 and "255.255.0.0" in the Address Mask field 3.

  6. Select [Accept].

  7. Click [Apply New Settings].
