[Defaults]


Configure how the printer behaves by default.

[Common]

[Default Print Paper Size]

Select the print paper size to be selected by default.

[Substitute Tray]

Set whether to use paper of substitute size to commence printing if any tray in the printer does not have paper of auto-selected size loaded.

[Drum Cartridge Conservation Mode]

Set how the printer behaves when [Output Color] is set to [Auto Detect].

[Calibration]

Set adjustment values for simplified calibration.

[Paper Tray Settings]

[Image Quality]

Image quality processing method can be set on a paper type basis.

[Custom Paper Name / Color]

You can give a name to each of custom paper 1 to 5 and custom colors 1 to 5 that can be selected in [Paper Tray Settings] > [Type] on the device control panel.

[Auto Tray Switching]

[Paper Type Priority]

Assign priorities to trays to be used when [Auto Select] is enabled and more than one tray has paper loaded whose size and orientation are identical.

[Print Settings]

[Allocate Memory]

For each of the protocols, configure the settings such as the spooling method and incoming buffer size. Also, set the memory capacity used for print languages.

Note
  • This setting takes effect after the printer is restarted from CentreWare Internet Services, or is turned off and then on again from the printer's control panel.
  • The upper and lower limits that can be set for each item may vary depending on connected hardware.

[Free Space]

Displays the memory capacity of the printer.

[Print Page Buffer]

Displays the storage in which print data is processed.

[LPD/IPP]

Set spooling for jobs.

[PostScript Memory]

Specify the memory capacity used for PostScript.

This item can be set only when the printer is equipped with the optional Adobe PostScript 3 Kit.

[ART IV User Defined Memory]

Specify the memory capacity to store data (user-defined characters, forms, line pattern forms, and others) defined by ART IV users.

[ART EX Form Memory]

Specify the working memory space used to use forms with ART EX.

This screen is displayed if the printer is not equipped with the Enhancement Kit (storage).

[ART IV, ESC/P Form Memory]

Specify the working memory space used to use forms with ART IV and ESC/P.

This screen is displayed if the printer is not equipped with the Enhancement Kit (storage).

[HP-GL/2 Auto Layout Memory]

Specify the working memory space used to use the auto layout feature of HP-GL/2.

This screen is displayed if the printer is not equipped with the Enhancement Kit (storage).

[Job Ticket Memory]

Specify the memory capacity to be used when processing jobs tickets (objects in which settings such as number of copies and post-processing are described).

[RAM Disk]

Set whether to enable the RAM disk.

This item is displayed when the printer is equipped with a storage, and the printer has 1 GB or more memory installed.

[Allowed Print Job Types]

Set whether to allow the printer to receive Direct Print jobs.

[Check Type and Size for Bypass]

Set whether to check paper during bypass printing.

[Prioritize Bypass Tray]

Set whether to select Bypass Tray at the highest priority whenever it has paper loaded.

[Resume Job After Print Error]

Set whether to cancel print jobs automatically when they are canceled due to some reasons such as an error.

[When Paper Jam Occurs]

Set how to process printing after paper jam is cleared in case a paper jam and other errors occur during printing.

[Banner Pages]

When multiple users are using the printer, printing banner pages helps them distinguish their jobs easily. Banner pages can be printed before or after a job is printed.

On banner pages, date, time, user name, file name and others are printed.

[Banner Pages]

Select to print banner pages.

[Banner Page Offset]

Set whether to enable offsetting of banner pages.

This item is displayed when the offset feature is enabled.

[Paper Tray]

Set the paper tray to use for banner pages.

[Allow Print Driver to Override]

If you select this check box, the printer will follow the banner page output settings of the printer driver.

[Sensing Separator Page]

Set whether to detect client banners.

[PJL File System Command]

Set whether to use PJL file system commands.

[Incoming Email Print Options]

Set whether to print the received email header and message text.

[Output Destination for Incoming Email]

Set the output tray for incoming email sheets.
