Security - 802.1x
This page allows you to configure printer settings for enabling IEEE 802.1x communications on your network.
This feature is not available if your network environment does not support IEEE 802.1x.
The following settings will become active after rebooting the printer from CentreWare Internet Services or manually turning off and on the printer.
If the optional hard disk unit is not installed on your printer, note that the data in the memory is cleared when the printer is turned off.
Configure 802.1x
Enable IEEE 802.1x
Select the [Enabled] check box to use the IEEE 802.1x protocol.
Authentication Method
Select the setting of authentication method for IEEE 802.1x.
- EAP-MD5
- EAP-MS-CHAPv2
- PEAP/MS-CHAPv2
- EAP-TLS
[EAP-TLS] appears only if the optional hard disk unit is installed and Data Encryption is enabled on your printer.
Login Name: (Device Name)
Specifies the login name (device name) for IEEE 802.1x authentication within 128 bytes using alphanumeric characters and symbols.
Password
Specifies the login password for IEEE 802.1x authentication within 128 bytes. The characters that can be entered include alphanumeric characters and symbols.
The password is displayed as dots (●), regardless of whether it has already been set or not.
To enter a password, delete all the dots and then enter the password. A blank (null) cannot be set.
The asterisks (*) may be displayed instead of dots.
Retype Password
Enter the login password entered in [Password] for verification.
Certificate Validation
Select the [Enabled] check box to validate the certification.
