User Authentication and Security

When using CentreWare Internet Services, you may be prompted for a user name and a password, or a certificate may be required.

Authorizing the User

When [Enabled] is selected for [Administrator Mode] under [Administrator Settings] in [Security] on the [Properties] tab, you may be prompted to enter the user name and the password when changing some settings. Enter the administrator ID and the password registered on the printer.

Note

The default user name and the password are as follows:
User name: admin
Password: NECPRADMIN

Encrypting Data

The data transmitted between the printer and a web browser is encrypted when a certificate is created in [Security] on the [Properties] tab and [Enabled] is selected for [SSL/TLS Server Communication]. Also, the certificate may be required when using CentreWare Internet Services.

Note

The data encryption may not be available depending on the products and the options installed. If your printer does not support the data encryption, [Security] does not appear on the [Properties] tab.
