[SMTP]


Configure the settings for SMTP.

[Port (Email Notification)]

Set whether to use the email notification port.

[Port (Receive Email)]

Set whether to use the incoming email port.

[Service Provider]

Specify the service provider to use for SMTP.

When [Not Selected] is selected in [Service Provider] / When [Service Provider] is hidden:

[Device Email Address]

Enter the email address of the printer. Use this address when sending emails to the printer. On email message sent from the printer, this address appears in the "From" field.

[Server Settings]

[Server Address]

Set the address of the outgoing email server to be connected via the SMTP protocol. Enter the address or select it from the servers list.
This must be specified as an IP address or as a server name that is in fully qualified domain name (FQDN) format.

[Outgoing SMTP Port Number]

Enter the outgoing SMTP port number to be used on the SMTP server.

[Port Number for Receiving Email]

This item is displayed when [Port (Receive Email)] is enabled.
Enter the incoming SMTP port number for incoming emails.

[SSL/TLS Communication]

Set the encryption algorithm for SMTP communication.

Note

If the email server does not support STARTTLS, communication with the email server is not established even if you select [STARTTLS].

[SMTP Authentication]

[Email Send Authentication]

Set how to log in to the SMTP server. For further help regarding the login method you should use, contact with your server administrator. To choose not to use the login feature, select [Off]. If you select [SMTP AUTH], the printer automatically supports Plain/Login/CRAM-MD5.

[SMTP AUTH Login Name]

Enter the user name to log in to the SMTP server.

[SMTP AUTH Password]

Enter the password to log in to the SMTP server.

[Retype Password]

Enter the same string as that you entered in [Password].

[Connection Test]

[Date & Time]/[Status]

Displays the results of connection test. Clicking [Start] establishes connection.

When [Exchange Online / Outlook.com] is selected in [Service Provider]:

  • When SMTP server of Exchange Online/Outlook.com using the OAuth 2.0 authentication is set up, the settings made on the printer's control panel will not take effect, and the SMTP server name will be blank. When the SMTP server name is input from the control panel, the setting of [Service Provider] changes to [Not Selected].
  • In normal use, do not change the items except for [Port Number for Receiving Email], [Tenant] and [Client ID].

[Device Email Address]

After saving the settings, on the sign-in screen, enter the email address for sending that is to be set for the machine then sign in.
Upon successful sign in, the email address entered on the sign-in screen will appear in [Device Email Address].

[Server Settings]

[Server Address]

Enter the address of the outgoing email server to be connected via the SMTP protocol.

This must be specified as an IP address or as a server name that is in fully qualified domain name (FQDN) format.

The default value is "smtp.office365.com".

[Outgoing SMTP Port Number]

Enter the outgoing SMTP port number to be used on the SMTP server.

[Port Number for Receiving Email]

This item is displayed when [Port (Receive Email)] is enabled.

Enter the incoming SMTP port number for incoming emails.

[Microsoft Entra Endpoint Settings]

[Host Name]

Enter the host name for Microsoft Entra ID.
The default value is "login.microsoftonline.com".

[Device Code Path]

Enter the endpoint path for Microsoft Entra ID device code.
The default value is "oauth2/v2.0/devicecode".

[Token Path]

Enter the endpoint path for Microsoft Entra ID token.
The default value is "oauth2/v2.0/token".

[Exchange Online / Outlook.com SMTP Client Settings]

[Tenant]

Enter the name of the tenant that requires access permissions.
The default value is "common".

[Client ID]

Enter the client ID.

[Scope]

Enter the scope that asks users for agreement.
The default value is "https://outlook.office.com/SMTP.Send offline_access openid email".
