[Administrator Settings]


You can specify an ID and a password for the system administrator.

[Administrator Settings] Dialog Box

[Administrator Mode]

Specify whether to authenticate with the user name and the password for the system administrator when changing the administrative printer configuration.

Note

If you disable the [Administrator Mode], all users can change the settings of the printer.

[Login Name]

This item appears when [Administrator Mode] is enabled.

Enter the login name (user name) for the system administrator. A null cannot be set. Colons (:) are not available. The following characters can be entered:

  • Up to 8 bytes (single-byte only)
  • Alphanumeric characters and symbols

[Password]

This item appears when [Administrator Mode] is enabled.

Enter the password for the system administrator. A null cannot be set. Colons (:) are not available. The following characters can be entered:

  • Between 4 bytes and 128 bytes (single-byte only)
  • Alphanumeric characters and symbols

[Retype Password]

This item appears when [Administrator Mode] is enabled.

Enter the same character string in [Password].

[Limit Login Attempts of System Administrator]

This item appears when [Administrator Mode] is enabled.

Specify whether to restrict the number of login attempts to be permitted as the system administrator.

[Failed Login Attempt Limit]

This item appears when [Limit Login Attempts of System Administrator] is enabled.

Enter the maximum number of login attempts to be permitted as the system administrator.

[Security Warning]

This item appears when [Administrator Mode] is enabled.

Specify whether to display the security warning in the following cases:

  • When a global IP address is allocated on the printer, and both [User Name] and [Password] of the system administrator are the default
  • When a global IP address is allocated on the printer, and [Community Names] in the [SNMP v1/v2] dialog box is the default
