[Wi-Fi Direct]


You can specify the communication environment via Wi-Fi Direct.

Note
  • Wi-Fi Direct cannot be used in an IPv6 or Ad-hoc environment.
  • This setting becomes available when you restart the printer from Internet Services or manually turn off and on the printer on the operator panel of the printer.

[Wi-Fi Direct]

[Enable]

Specify whether to enable the Wi-Fi Direct connection.

Wi-Fi Direct Connection Status

The status appears when Wi-Fi Direct is enabled.

  • [Paired Device]: Displays the number of mobile devices currently connected.
  • [Current Role]: Displays the current group role of the printer.
  • [Current SSID]: Displays the current SSID.

[Group Role]

This item appears when Wi-Fi Direct is enabled.

Select the group role of the printer.

[Device Name]

This item appears when [Auto] is selected for [Group Role].

Enter the printer name that identifies the Wi-Fi Direct network. The following characters can be entered:

  • Up to 32 bytes (single-byte only)
  • Alphanumeric characters and symbols

[DHCP Server]

This item appears when Wi-Fi Direct is enabled.

[IP Address]

Displays the IP address of the printer when connected using Wi-Fi Direct. To change the IP address, enter a new IP address.

[Subnet Mask]

Displays the subnet mask of the printer when connected using Wi-Fi Direct. To change the subnet mask, enter a new subnet mask.

[Group Owner]

This item appears when Wi-Fi Direct is enabled and [Group Owner] is selected for [Group Role].

Displays the current group owner.

[SSID]

Enter the name to be identified over the Wi-Fi Direct network. A null cannot be set. The following characters can be entered:

  • Up to 23 bytes (single-byte only)
  • Alphanumeric characters and symbols

[Passcode]

Displays the passcode. Confirm it when you enter the passcode into your Wi-Fi mobile device.
