[Ethernet]


You can specify the communication environment via Ethernet.

Note

This setting becomes available when you restart the printer from Internet Services or manually turn off and on the printer on the operator panel of the printer.

[Ethernet]

[MAC Address]

Displays the MAC address.

[Rated Speed]

Select the Ethernet transmission speed. Selecting [Auto (Default)] automatically detects and switches the Ethernet transmission speed and Duplex setting.

[Energy Efficient Ethernet]

Specify whether to enable Energy Efficient Ethernet.

Enabling this item reduces power consumption of the printer when the connected printer supports Energy Efficient Ethernet feature.


[Common]

Displays host name, IP mode, and whether to make a priority to IPv6 over IPv4 at domain name resolution.

To edit the settings, click [Edit] to display the [Common] dialog box.

[Common] Dialog Box

[Host Name]

Displays the host name. The host name can also be changed. The following characters can be entered:

  • Up to 47 bytes
  • Alphanumeric characters and hyphens (-)

[Network]

Select the Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

[IP Mode]

Select the IP mode to be used.

Note

Wi-Fi Direct cannot be used when [IPv6] is selected.

[IPv6 Priority over IPv4 at Domain Name Resolution]

This item appears when [Dual Stack] is selected for [IP Mode].

Specify whether to make a priority to IPv6 over IPv4 at domain name resolution.


[IPv4]

Displays the settings of the IPv4 address.

To edit the settings, click [Edit] to display the [IPv4] dialog box.

[Mode]

Select the mode to be used.

[IP Address]

Displays the IP address.

When [STATIC] is selected for [Mode], enter the IP address that is allocated to the printer.

[Subnet Mask]

Displays the subnet mask.

When [STATIC] is selected for [Mode], enter the subnet mask.

[Gateway Address]

Displays the gateway address.

When [STATIC] is selected for [Mode], enter the gateway address.

[Self-Assigned Address]

This item appears when [DHCP] is selected for [Mode].

Specify whether to obtain the auto-set address.


[IPv6]

Displays the settings of the IPv6 address.

To edit the settings, click [Edit] to display the [IPv6] dialog box.

[Link-Local Address]

Displays a link-local address.

[DHCPv6]

[Purpose]

Specify whether to enable the purpose for DHCPv6.

[Manual Address]

Specify whether to manually set the IPv6 address.

Note

Obtaining of auto-set address is still performed even when this item is enabled.

[Manual Address]

This item appears when [Manual Address] is enabled.

  • Text Box on the Left

    Enter the IP address allocated to the printer.
  • Text Box on the Right

    Enter the prefix length allocated to the printer.

[Gateway Address]

This item appears when [Manual Address] is enabled.

Enter the gateway address.

[Automatically Configured Gateway Address]

This item appears when [Manual Address] is enabled.

Displays a gateway address assigned by the IPv6 router connected to the network.


[DNS]

Displays the setting of DNS.

To edit the settings, click [Edit] to display the [DNS] dialog box.

[Domain Name]

Enter the domain name. The following characters can be entered:

  • Up to 255 bytes (single-byte only)
  • Alphanumeric characters, periods (.), and hyphens (-)

[Connection Timeout]

Enter the connection timeout period of DNS. If the reception of data stops during the transfer, the connection to the printer is terminated after the time period specified here elapses.

[IPv4 DNS Servers]

[Use DHCP to Assign Address]

Specify whether to obtain the IP address from DHCP.

[Server Address]

This item appears when [Use DHCP to Assign Address] is disabled.

Enter the DNS server address.

[IPv6 DNS Servers]

[Use DHCPv6-lite to Assign Address]

Specify whether to obtain the IP address from DHCPv6-lite.

[Server Address]

This item appears when [Use DHCPv6-lite to Assign Address] is disabled.

Enter the DNS server address.

[DNS Search Domains]

[Generate Domain Search List Automatically]

Specify whether to automatically create the domain search list.

[Search Domain Name]

This item appears when [Generate Domain Search List Automatically] is disabled.

Enter the domain name to be searched.

[Dynamic DNS Registration]

Specify whether to update DNS dynamically.

[Dynamic DNS Registration (IPv4)]

When [Dual Stack] or [IPv4] is selected for [IP Mode] in [Common], specify whether to update DNS dynamically.

[Dynamic DNS Registration (IPv6)]

When [Dual Stack] or [IPv6] is selected for [IP Mode] in [Common], specify whether to update DNS dynamically.


[802.1X]

Configure printer settings for enabling IEEE 802.1x authentication on your network. This function is available when your network environment supports IEEE 802.1x.

To edit the settings, click [Setup] to display the [802.1X] dialog box.

[Enable 802.1X]

Specify whether to enable the IEEE 802.1x protocol.

[Authentication Method]

This item appears when [Enable 802.1X] is enabled.

Select the authentication method for IEEE 802.1x.

[User Name (Device Name)]

This item appears when [Enable 802.1X] is enabled.

Enter the user name (printer name) for IEEE 802.1x authentication. A null cannot be set. The following characters can be entered:

  • Up to 128 bytes (single-byte only)
  • Alphanumeric characters and symbols

[Password]

This item appears when [Enable 802.1X] is enabled.

Enter the login password for IEEE 802.1x authentication. A null cannot be set. The following characters can be entered:

  • Up to 128 bytes (single-byte only)
  • Alphanumeric characters and symbols

[Retype Password]

This item appears when [Enable 802.1X] is enabled.

Enter the same character string in [Password].
