At NEC CRL labs, I am engaged in solving the social problem of aging infrastructure. With the increasing number of infrastructures reaching repair stage condition, there is a need for cheap and accurate deterioration detection to ensure sufficient structural health for public safety. As a part of the Predictive Infrastructure Maintenance group at NEC CRL’S Value Co-creation Center, I am currently engaged in using deep learning techniques for detecting infrastructure deterioration from images of concrete structures. Our proposed solution provides a contact-less method for deterioration detection from remote(about 10m from the structure) observations obtained from a generic RGB camera. I was born in Kolkata, India, in 1989. I received my B.E. degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, in 2012 and M.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, in 2014. My masters research involved computer graphics and Haptics, with focus on mathematical modelling of virtual clay interactions for tactile and visual feedback. I joined NEC Central research Labs in 2014, where I am part of Predictive Infrastructure Maintenance group. My current research interests include computer vision and pattern recognition, specifically deep learning based image representations.
